Handbag Review: Gucci Marmont Matelassé shoulder bag

In my previous handbag review, I talked about the minimalism of Phoebe Philo and her Celine Nano. Now is the opportunity to talk about the Alessandro Michele's new Gucci maximalist approach: prints, colours, layers, frills, and the resurrection of the iconic GG logo.

I feel like, although I love the discretion of my Celine, I want to shout out my crazy side with this new bag. However I didn’t go that crazy, instead, I tried to stay cool and chose to go for a “classic” and my favourite colour, the dusty pink.

Why I Chose this bag?

The GG marmont matelassé comes in velvet and chevron leather. I was looking for a more casual look so I opted for the leather version. It comes in the popular black and also in different other colours. I preferred to include this bag in my spring and summer looks so chose the dusty pink version, which is perfect for those seasons. Nonetheless, believe it or not, this bag is also very applicable to other seasons as the colour is not too strong and perfectly matches with almost everything.

I bought it when I was pregnant and was quite nervous to use it with the baby, but this bag has demonstrated to be baby proof.

I hate to baby a bag. I have my own baby to take care of so don't want to spend more of my time and patience worrying about a bag. I have to say that this bag has passed the "mom quality control".

Although is a very good bag, I took care of it using a water and colour transfer repellent. A good one I found is the Scotchgard Water Repellent Shoe Protector. So far it has been a great product. I have also used it with my suede Saint Laurent boots and it works perfectly.

What I Keep in mine?

I try to go light and only carry my essentials with me but you can carry more and more into this bag such us a Kindle, coin purse, tissue paper and a small wallet.

Overall Review

Like with all my bags, I try to pick something versatile and this bag is exactly that. You can dress it down with a pair of jeans and sneakers, or dress it up with nice pumps like the Rockstud Valentino.

Is perfect to carry your essentials, really light and comfortable and as a busy mom I can tell you that is very easy to use - opening and closing is not a problem at all.
