Having trouble finding your best foundation? Probably is because you are choosing the wrong one for your skin type or for your makeup look.

A Foundation is a skin colored makeup applied to the face to create an uniform color to the complexion or to cover flaws.

There is a variety of foundations. I'll group them into four types in relation to coverage, finish and skin type to be applied on.

Liquid: This type of foundation is good for all skin type, dry, normal, oily or combination. It usually comes in light, medium and full coverage. You can also find it in different finish types, such us matte, dewy or satin.

Mac Face & Body : Light Coverage - Normal to Dry Skin

Mac Studio Fix Fluid : Medium Coverage - Normal to Dry Skin

Nars : Medium Coverage - Combination Skin

Estee Lauder double wear : Medium Cover - Combination Skin

Maybelline FitMe Matte : Light to Medium Coverage - Oily Skin

Loreal True Match : Medium Coverage -Combination Skin

Rimmel Match Perfection : Medium Coverage - Combination Skin

NYX Stay Matte : Full Coverage - Oily and Combination Skin

Cream: This foundation is like the liquid type but in a thicker texture. It's recommended for normal to dry skin because it is also hydrating and moisturizing and has a better coverage than the liquid foundation.

Stick: They were design to be portable and easy to travel which make them perfect for a pro kit. It is a medium to full coverage foundation and it usually comes in matte finish. Ideal for oily to combination skin types. They are very popular for photography and filming.

Powder: It is the oily skin's best friend and usually comes in matte finish. For all other types of skin, you can also use it to set your liquid foundation. Personally, it's a must have. Just be aware that if your skin is extremely dry, using powder can accentuate the lines or the dryness of the skin.

Now that you know more about foundations, I hope you can decide which one is the best for you. Let me know in the comments below your questions and suggestions.

Just a final advice, please love yourself and don't go to sleep with your makeup on.
